Our kitchen has a new addition. Hung perfectly on the wall right over the completely useless phone jack. It’s not just pretty, it’s utilitarian. And I love it to death.
You’ve seen this cupcake before, you say? Why yes! They’re the adorably delicious cherry-filled almond cupcakes from two years ago, interpreted in painting form by Indiana artist Sarah Wain.
Sarah contacted me a few months ago asking to use some of my dessert photos in her paintings. And if you’ve seen her paintings, it is obvious Sarah has a sweet tooth just like I do. She is one talented lady, able to capture the texture of cake and buttercream with paint on canvas. I was honored that she wanted to use my images and even more thrilled when she offered to send me a print of the final product.
The original painting is large and gorgeous, a whopping 24×36″. If I had a bigger wall in my kitchen I just might have to buy it. But for now, the print will have to do.

I’ve tweeted the give away. My handle is @shopcookmake
I don’t currently have any art on the walls in my kitchen because there aren’t any open walls–only cupboards, windows, and appliances. But my dream kitchen would have at least one of Sarah’s originals. They are beautiful!
paintings and photos!
there is not much in my kitchen walls. I would have lots of shelves and windows in my dream kitchen.
Isn’t this just wonderful! I love her work. And, that piece looks fabulous in your kitchen. Now, I have a large 36 X 48 canvas of a big red watermelon hanging by our breakfast table. We were in Costa Rica and saw this piece, had them unframe it, roll it up, and we brought it straight back with us because we knew it would be lovely. Now, all I need is a cupcake! Great giveaway!
Currently there isn’t anything on my kitchen walls except my magnet strip for my knives. I want to put up a ton of cute food pictures!
I also became a fan of sarahewain.com on FB! She has great stuff!!
I can’t beleive that I was not a FB fan, but now I am – YEAH!!!!
Love this new addition to your kitchen – what a remarkable resemblance to the real thing. You have such a cute kitchen – love it!
I have a pot rack and that is about it. I have had plans for various things on the walls in our kitchen but I’ve never actually done anything!
I also liked sarahewain.com on Facebook :)

I’ve seen Sarah Wain’s paintings before – they’re great. I actually have her bookmarked for my future kitchen/dining room. =)
I would love to have a spice rack on the wall near my stove. I do so much cooking and baking and it gets annoying to dig into the cabinets
I also ‘like’d your page on Facebook! Linda H.
My fiancee and I just moved into our new condo/loft 2 weekends ago. The only thing we have is a small metal poster thing that says,”And in the end the love you take is equal to the love you make -The Beatles”. Hopefully I’ll get a second something for the kitchen! If you know what I mean :)
Nothing at the moment except a Bible verse my grandpa gave me as a wedding gift. Pictures of food would be amazing in my dream kitchen!
Seeing as I have quite possibly the worst kitchen in all of Manhattan, I don’t feel right entering any contest that could potentially result in any attempts to “beautify” it, but I will say that she is a very gifted artist: That’s a photographic-quality painting!
My kitchen walls have nothing on it…a nice cupcake painting would be a nice addition!
My walls showcase the most godawful wallpaper I’ve ever laid eyes upon. When we remodel our kitchen, I hope to have walls pace for real art, like that Sarah Wain cupcake!
I have a painting, but it was just a temporary fix-a cupcake would be the perfect thing!
That print is gorgeous. I just moved to a new place, and my walls are completely bare! A print like this is just what the kitchen needs!
I left a comment on Sarah ‘s page, and liked her on Facebook. I am Susan W.

Photographs of my family; and a painting by local artist Dennas Davis.
I am already following you on facebook! and i LOVE your recipes!!!
Right now I don’t have anything on the walls in my kitchen, as my kitchen is to small to put anything up. :(
I have liked Sarah Ewain on Facebook. May have to look into some of her prints to decorate my new dessert shop! Michelle H

In my dream kitchen, I would have a totally organized and matching room. Mine is plain and blue now with super old cabinets and crappy tile counters and floors…
In my dream kitchen, I think I’d like there to be one really BIG window (like, ceiling to floor BIG) to really light up the kitchen :)
I like Sarah on fb as well (Rachel C.)
Already like you on fb! (Rachel C.)
On my kitchen walls – very little … I’m slow to decorate because it’s so hard finding stuff I love but I have a few kitchen related farm box type items w/pictures w/in of fruits and such.
I would like a copy of your cupcake print! Actually any print of your desserts would look good in my kitchen. Though I think I would have to redo my kitchen once I got a good picture in it.
My dream kitchen would probably be all black and white in decor but with splashes of color throughout the wall art. This one would fit it in perfectly! :)
I also now like Sarah on FB! Amber Shea F.
I “like” you on FB – Amber Shea F.
What’s on my walls? NOTHING but a bulletin board. BORING! I need help. I love the cupcake art. Time to add some color. My dream kitchen would be a retro diner theme.
TOO CUTE!
I tweeted! @AlmostVeganChef
Currently, our kitchen is decorated with the hubby’s B&W photography. In an ideal dream kitchen, it would be more of a B&W modern design, with pops of color from Vargus-esque cheesecake prints…
There is not much room on our kitchen walls at the moment, but the one piece of art I do have is a beautiful handmade and hand painted pie plate of Chesapeake Blue Crabs to celebrate my time in Maryland.
I like Sarah E Wain on Facebook too!
I like Love and Olive Oil on Facebook :)
Nothing is on the walls of my kitchen as its new and our first apartment. I would put this up without hesitation. Its BEAUTIFUL!
What a darling piece of artwork. To be honest even though the husband and I moved into our home 2 years ago, I still have not properly decorated our kitchen. Sad :(I have a whole empty wall that I would love to decal.
