When it comes to salt, there’s so much more to explore than plain old iodized. Even beyond kosher and sea salt, there is an entire world of specialty and gourmet salts out there. A unique salt can add the perfect finishing touch to any dish, sweet OR savory. A good, quality salt is more than just sodium, it adds flavor and punch and intensity. With high quality gourmet sea salts like those carried by SaltWorks®, Inc, you get MORE flavor by ultimately using LESS salt.
Like yesterday’s Rosemary and Smoked Salt Roasted Almonds, a gourmet salt can take a dish to delicious new heights. Whether it is a flurry of Himalayan pink salt finishing off your next salad, or a touch of savory smoked salt on your next batch of popcorn. Or hey, sprinkle a bit of flake sea salt on the top of your next batch of chocolate chip cookies (you’ll thank me later).
That’s why I’m so excited for today’s giveaway. Not only will you get the Wildfire® smoked salt blend I used in yesterday’s recipe (along with it’s two smokey companions – a $39.95 value), you’ll also receive the Artisan Bamboo Salt Sampler with 24 gourmet salt flavors in a gorgeous bamboo presentation box. This set alone is valued at $124.95. From black salt to pink salt, fine salt to coarse salt, smoked salt to mountain spring salt, this set has it all. Way more than a grain of salt, I’ll say that much!

Any of these would be an excellent addition to my snacking popcorn (and so many other dishes!) Since I am now Dairy and Gluten free, and on a very tight budget, I find that popping corn satisfies my snacking urge, but sadly, not my craving for flavor.

I love garlic rosemary.

I love the Salish Sea salt. I’m a huge fan of smoked foods but am not quite hardcore enough to smoke things in the winter (I live in Connecticut). By using smoked salt, I can get a touch of my favorite flavors without having to brave the elements!

I don’t think I’ve ever tried gourmet salt, unless you count Maldon Sea Salt. I do have and use that. I used it to make Sweet and Salty Cake from the Baked cookbook, which was delicious. Thank you!

I’ve just recently started using specialty salts and I’m partial to fleur de sel. I’m experimenting with them on all kinds of things right now.

I used it on fried eggs, fried potatoes, in my potato salad, on meats…you name it…I can use it on pretty much anything.

I love smoked salts and recently tried truffle salt!
I love hibiscus scented fleur de sel on white chocolate!
I love using citrus salt. I don’t season with salt while cooking, but usually put just a sprinkle on food just when serving and I find citrus salt brightens up most dishes.

One of my favorite salts is a black or white truffle salt. I love putting it on anything cheesy!

My favorite is pink himalayan salt because I use it cookies and to decorate holiday truffles
I’ve only tried Himalayan pink salt once, and in a very strange context– a friend brought it over to sprinkle on homemade pizza– but I tasted it plain, too, and it was lovely; I could see using it on all sorts of things, like over eggs, tomatoes, salads, and soups.
Sea salt and Herbs! Wonderful for any kind of chicken soup!
Black truffle salt on a sunny side up egg with toast!
HI! I make all foods from scratch, I love trying new seasonings and developing layers of flavor. Your salt chest assortment is making me drool and wanting to try new salt/seasoning combinations! It would be so AMAZING to be picked!!!
I love using smoked sea salt with a little good olive oil to dip some crusty bread in! Not only does it look great, but its a delicious and special (and easy!) way to start a meal.
I use and love a Truffle Pink Himalayan sea salt…on top of eggs :)

I haven’t actually used many gourmet salts yet, but because I don’t grill (I’m afraid of blowing up lol) or have a smoker, I do like to add a smoked salt to sauces, ribs, etc. This would be a great opportunity to do some experimenting! :)
I love flaky sea salt like fleur de sel on sweet treats, like brownies or caramels. I’m still trying to figure out how to incorporate smoked sea salt into something – it smells so potent!
Honestly I’ve never tried a specialty salt! But I would love the opportunity to do so. Thanks for the chance to win!
The smoked blends sound delicious!
