It’s that time again, folks! I am so excited to announce the launch of this year’s Great Food Blogger Cookie Swap, hosted by myself and Julie of The Little Kitchen. For the 3rd year in a row, this event brings together food bloggers from around the world in celebration of all things cookie. Last year we had nearly 600 bloggers participate and raised over $4,400 for Cookies for Kids’ Cancer. That’s a lot of cookies doing a lot of good. (If you’re curious, and hungry, you can see ALL the cookie recipes from last year’s swap here and here.)
The premise is this: eligible food bloggers sign up. Receive the addresses of three other food bloggers. Send each of them one dozen delicious homemade cookies. Receive three different boxes of scrumptious cookies from other bloggers. Eat them all yourself (or, you know, share. If you want. No judgement either way.) Post your cookie recipe on your blog. See everyone else’s cookie recipes. Salivate. Get lots of great ideas for next year’s cookie swap. Rinse and repeat.
This year, once again, we will be partnering with Cookies for Kids’ Cancer, and collecting a $4 donation from every participant. By participating in this cookie swap you are not only contributing to the food blogger community, but also supporting a great cause. Additionally, our three generous brand partners, OXO, Gold Medal Flour, and Dixie Crystals, will EACH be matching our donation (up to $3,000). Additionally, all U.S. participants can also opt to receive free goodies from our partners, including kitchen gadgets and product coupons. It’s a win-win for everyone!
(I do want to reiterate that these tax-deductible donations will be made directly to Cookies For Kids’ Cancer—a recognized 501(c)3 public charity duly incorporated under the laws of the state of New Jersey—Julie and I will have no contact whatsoever with this money. 100% of it will go directly to this amazing organization).
Want to join in on the fun?
Hurry over to the official Great Food Blogger Cookie Swap website to sign up. Be sure to read through the full rules and requirements and make sure you are able to meet the deadlines. There are no refunds if you drop out prior to the sign-up deadline or if you don’t meet all the requirements for participation.
Sign ups will be accepted through Monday, November 4th.
The website will be updated regularly throughout the event, so bookmark the URL or follow us on facebook to get the most up to date info about status and deadlines.

We hope you are excited about the return of this event as we are! Hooray for cookies!
I am very excited to participate in the cookie swap! It sounds great. I have one question : I know how important it is that you do the donation in order to participate. I signed up as Lindsey Gearin but then donated under the name of Kim Gearin ( Kim is my mom, since I am not yet an adult). Will I still get to participate? Thanks!
Not a problem the system knows you’ve paid regardless of the name/email on the account. I see you on the list so you’re good to go!
I just signed up! I’m excited to participate in my first food blogging community event! Looking forward to some great cookies :)
I can’t wait to join in!
Eeep so excited to take part again this year :D already brainstorming cookie ideas
Such a great idea, I would love love love to participate ;) Fingers crossed there will be a few Swiss Bloggers taking part :) I already emailed, so lets wait and see :D
Just signed up! This sounds like a lot of fun and while supporting a great cause? Win-win! I’m really excited for this. :] Time to start brainstorming!
Question: do you get to make prior contact to your cookie makers/receivers? I am gluten free for health reasons, so obviously, a cookie made with wheat wouldn’t exactly work for me. I hope this doesn’t seem like a selfish thing to ask for a charity event because that’s definitely not my intention!
There is a question when you sign up to specify any allergies. We usually have quite a few gluten-free people participate each year, and we’ll match you up with other GF bakers so that’ll be no problem at all. :)
I am so exciting to be participating again this year! Last year was such fun! Thank you, Lindsay and Julie, for all the time and energy you devote to this event!
Can’t wait to partecipate -it’s my first cookie swap ever! ready to bake! cheers from Italy :)
